Constanze Stratz studierte Schulmusik mit den Fächern Klavier und Querflöte sowie Musikwissenschaft an der Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen und Germanistik an der Universität Duisburg-Essen mit Abschluss 1. Staatsexamen sowie Promotion in Musikwissenschaft. Forschungsarbeiten für diese mit dem Titel "Ernst Toch im kalifornischen Exil" führten sie zwischen 1996-99 für insgesamt 13 Monate in das Musikarchiv der University of California, Los Angeles. Als freie Musikjournalistin verfasst sie Lexikonartikel, CD-Booklets, Programmhefttexte und ist Autorin diverser Hörfunk-Features für SWR2.
Seit 1998 ist sie musikwissenschaftliche und redaktionelle Mitarbeiterin beim SWR Experimentalstudio und seit 2006 zusätzlich Producerin bei SWR Classic.
Constanze Stratz studied music education with the subjects piano and flute as well as musicology at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and German language and literature at the University of Duisburg-Essen, graduating with a 1st state examination and a doctorate in musicology. Research for the latter, entitled "Ernst Toch in California Exile," took her to the music archives of the University of California, Los Angeles, for a total of 13 months between 1996-99. As a freelance music journalist, she writes encyclopedia articles, CD booklets, program booklet texts and is the author of various radio features for SWR2.
Since 1998 she has worked as a musicologist and assistant at the SWR Experimentalstudio and since 2006 she is a producer at SWR Classic.
